IPM Magazine

Volume 09, Issue No. 6, December 2022

We find ourselves in this issue focusing on the burgeoning field of proteogenomics and the advancement of single cell technologies being used to delve into the proteome more deeply. As the name infers, this combines both disciplines, the overlay of proteomics data combined with genomics data in an integrated fashion to help reveal new actionable insights at the molecular level. This links genotypes to phenotypes which of course is a central dogma of precision medicine. The transfer of information from DNA to RNA to proteins is one of the central tenets of molecular biology and is an area of intense scrutiny in precision medicine. Despite its apparent simplification to 3 iterative steps–the reality is rather more complex.
